| Alendronate must be taken with 6-8 oz of tap water at least 30 minutes before breakfast daily for 6 months. Alendronate treatment has been shown to produce biochemical remission in approximately 2/3 of treated patients. Care must be taken to avoid esophageal irritation by drinking a large glass of water with the tablet and by remaining upright for at least 30 minutes after taking the medication. | |||
