In
late-stage disease of the skull, much of the new bone formation occurs
in the outer table, but occasionally it is seen on the skull's inner
table. Such large bony masses can lead to brain compression and can
be associated with hearing and vision loss. This MRI of the skull
demonstrates thickening of the bone. This test was performed because
of the patient's neurologic symptoms and suspicion of hydrocephalus. |
